Forums - Nintendo - ‘Conduit’ Developer Dispels Myths About Wii Hardcore Gaming (Long Post)

i hope they release a demo

Around the Network

While I understand why some would want split screen, I'm not sure how well it would work using the IR controls.

I'll most likely pre-order this to get it mailed to me. I really hope Nintendo help promote the game as it is in their interests to get these kind of developers on board to make the genres of games they don't want to. If they don't support developers like HVS then it really will be the nail in the coffin for core game development on the Wii.

Goddamint, these guys gets it! I'm jumping the hype train. This game is going to rock :D

If a pointer goes to the other side, it would be "off screen".

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

This game doesn't excite me, I guess it's hard to get hyped when I've got a PS3 as well and aside from some nifty controls its lacking alot of what other FPS's I can get offer. I've never been bothered by Dual Analogue though.

Really can't see how it's going to sell big though, I mean, is anyone expecting it to pass Metroid Prime 3? I can only think of reasons why it's not going to get anywhere near that games sales.

I'm sure it'll sell healthy and potentially pass 1 million after long legs and price cuts.

@jammy: It could very well pass MP3. Conduit will be a million seller with regular price.

No, really. A mindless frag-fest with online has much broader appeal than a game about exploration and boss fights.

Redsteel is a million seller, a cheap-ass multiplatform port CoD:WAW is above 400k. So it shouldn't be a problem for an, expectedly quality, exclusive to hit 1M. REUC did 1M too, just as RE4.
The audience for shooters are there, only the quality titles are missing.

I agree, Metroid was a game you have to 'get into' and certainly wasn't for everyone.  My friend LOVES it but it just never appealed to me or my son.

Now a run and gun fragfest shooting alien invaders.  That's an easy concept to grasp, easy controls to grasp (point and shoot) and looks like fun.   I expect this to do much better than Metroid as long as the gameplay holds up.   If the online is comparable to PC's (not likely) this could be a lot bigger than anyone thinks.   And the legs on this could be incredible as grewing boys with Wii's look for something deeper than Nerf N-Strike.
