good read... i hope the game does great

I just hope Sega has a bit of cop and advertises this game. They don't have to do a major campaign, just a minor but mainstream campaign, along with the standard internet gaming site ads.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

www.xnagg.com/zombieasteroids/publish.htm

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

^ I agree, Sega needs to advertise this game. You can't not advertise a game and then complain that no one is buying it. Most people just don't know a game is out until they see a game advertisement, or see it in stores.

The lack of advertising for many Wii games is probably one of the reasons many Wii games have crazy long legs... people don't know about them until they see it in store, then pick it up. There's obviously lots of other reasons, but I think that could be a contributing factor.

This game, if done well, will probably have long legs anyway, since it'll probably be one of few FPS on the Wii in 2009, especially if COD6 isn't on the Wii. Lots of potential here, let's hope they make it good.

^ I think Sega needs to plan out their advertisements before they go all spend crazy, they've only been publisher for less than 3 months now. Word of Mouth and In-store advertisements should be the best way to do it in my opinion, it doesn't need to be expensive, it needs to be effective. We're dealing with a newer crowd here, the hardcore wii owners will definately buy it. The difficulty? Convincing the families.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

I'll probabaly buy this game some time after release. That is if it won't be bad.

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

The question is... Will it be available in stores...?

HVS has zero experience making FPSs so I doubt it's going to be great gameplay wise (Ie: Level design, enemy AI) but I'm itching for a good Wii run and gun FPS game and this fits the bill nicely so I'll be sure to pick it up irregardless.

Well, according to pretty much every single preview report, it plays beautifully.

Still, gamers are whiney fools sometimes.  This game has a lot of hype, and no doubt, there will be some of retards ignoring it if it scores below 90%--because those people are out there.

And woe be to the game should some Nintendo franchise title release alongside it because all the Nintendo fanboys eager for The Conduit will give it the mother of cold shoulders (perhaps an arctic one) to grab the Nintendo fodder instead.  As they seem to tend to do.

Ya i'm buying this day 1 and a lot of my friends are as well. Really looking forward to this.

When has that happened? Seriously, I'd like some examples.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
