Forums - Nintendo - ‘Conduit’ Developer Dispels Myths About Wii Hardcore Gaming (Long Post)

We should all try to buy it off VGChartz Amazon.com Store as well.

These guys seem to understand what's needed to make a good game. I'm looking forward to the fully customizable controls, and the online. I'm also interested to see how well WiiSpeak works as voice chat with many people.

Is there a release date for this game yet? Late 2009 hopefully?

Spring 2009 is the very vague release date. I'm hopin' they push it as far as they can to get as work on it as humanly possible. Do things the miyomoto way! Delay the game untill its epic.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

HVS has zero experience making FPSs so I doubt it's going to be great gameplay wise (Ie: Level design, enemy AI) but I'm itching for a good Wii run and gun FPS game and this fits the bill nicely so I'll be sure to pick it up irregardless.

Zero you say? I count work on 2 FPS games on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Voltage_Studios. Well maybe they only did porting and minor work, but it's still more then zero experience.

 Mid 09 if memory serves.

Pixel Art can be fun.

well it's a first day buy for me... I just wish they had kept all the multiplayer options ^^

every time i hear these guys talk i wanna buy the game already. they never come off as phoney like most of the other devs and most importantly they genuinely want to provide a good experience on wii....

but it's hard to predict a scenario where the game sells in millions... as a benchmark i'll be surprised (pleasantly) if it outsells Metroid Prime 3!!

day 1

and i have 4 friends that are going to buy it.

I believe May 2009 is the speculated date. Campaign is done, but multiplayer is not, from what we've heard. The game being motion plus compatible (but totally optional) means it won't drop before Wii Sports Resort does, and that game is equally speculated as a Spring title, which i would also set for May.

I know i'm buying this, despite my aversion to this sort of thing. A good twitch FPS is something i need once in a while, and it's best to invest in a high-quality product when doing so (why i didn't get CoD:W@W or MOH:H2)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

One reason it might not sell great is the missing split-screen. The Wii is supposed to be good about local multi-player games. (Smash Bros., Mario Kart etc.) Also, the largest selling FPS seem to have split-screen. (Halo, Golden Eye, Call of Duty 4+, Doom II)

I know The Conduit has Lan but I'm not sure alot of people care to do LAN or even understand what LAN is.

But they do seem to understand that quick thoughtless ports aren't attractive to many of people and they recognize the undeserved gamers on the Wii. So who knows?

This is prolly the single Wii game currently announced that I cannot wait to play.
