Forums - Gaming - Does your gaming taste dictate your personality?

I love how you think that in an FPS, you never have to think. Have you ever played one in your lifetime?

What I was thinking....

My noggin is strained far more when I play UT2004 than when I play Warcraft 3. Especially when I'm mindlessly jumping around, dodging incoming rockets while laying down my share of rockets or schock combos, all in a manner of split seconds too....

P.S. I play all games but sport games, I'd much rather play it myself or not play it at all. So does that mean I'm patient and calculating in my strategy games, yet simiple and lacking any brainpower from my FPS games? I like this theory! We should make it a natrual law!

@ OP No. I do not think that this is true at all. I like Dewy's Adventure but also like punching random children.

An FPS needs good reaction skills and quick thinking. So that would mean you are a decision maker. And perhaps a generally well prepared person (going into an unknown room with low ammunition and only a small pistol is a stupid decision)

I think perhaps you should not have had such a negative ideal for fans of FPS, because ineviatably their quick thinking decision is that you are insulting them (rightly so) and thus they will shoot you down

Does a love of adventure games mean you are an adventurous person?

Does a love of all games mean you have a playful personality?

And yes, you do have it the wrong way around... you should not have used the word "dictate" in your title. Being a fan of adventure games can mean you are an adventurous person, but the game doesn't dictate the personality, it's vice-versa.

@Galaki

What if someone likes H-games?

I see what you're saying and I agree. For example. I like to explore everything in a game just to see what will happen. A game like GTAIV is perfect for me because you can interact with almost everything, and if you want to do something in the game, then the chances are that you will be able to do it. That reflects my personality in the sense that I believe the only only limit is one's imagination. Any game that deals with chaotic craziness is a game for me.

Well I don't have very stingy tastes and that seems to reflect me pretty well. I also can't stay on just one thing for an extended period of time so there's another thing.

Majora's Mask, I love the art style, its so very Tim Burtonish, and I always figured my personlity was like that.

Hard to explain I guess

but then again theirs also the beer drinking, farting, manly games like Call Of Duty that interest me.
