Forums - Nintendo - New Monster Hunter 3 interview + footage

Looks like they're still tweaking the online system. Also, they are still not sure about sending Monster Hunter 3 overseas.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Still unsure about overseas!? But they've gotto release it overseas! I want it!
It looks really good. The graphics are nice. The gameplay looks fun. Looks like large areas to explore. Going online with friends to do quests would be great.
It should sell very well in Japan. So I hope it makes its way over west and continues to have more success.

Man it looks good.

I thought they had stated in other interviews that they had intended to ship this overseas.

Pacman taught people to run around in dark rooms munching on pills while listening to repettive techno music and for that I somewhat idolise him.

We want it! We want it! We want it!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

I had heard from previous interviews that they wanted to really push this game to the west (good idea seeing the Japanese market these days)

So I am about 100% sure it will release in the US and about 90% sure it will get Pal treatment.

Hmm, it seems to be a fad now among devs to want to have the best graphics on the Wii.. not like the competition is too rough... but still.

Capcom has stated that they want to use Monster Hunter 3 to bring the franchise to western markets. They'd have trouble doing that if they don't release it.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
