Why game of the year and not "Best selling game of the year" with the winner for each category, same categories like with the "Game of the year"?

Much more interesting than that other, subjective stuff. Only take sales from 01.01.08 to 31.12.08.

After all, this is a sales web site.

hmm i would not choose wiisports as best selling game of the year, but rather one that is actually being sold at stores. (i'm not saying we shouldn't track it, just not in this particular thing)

I don't think there is enough to say about wii sports to warrant a news topic :P

I think it would be more interesting to say what was really great about mario, and then write RIP at the bottom.

Also, I think they already have a news story at the top of the page.
But if this thread is really about wanting to have an "award for 2008" for the wii, then gloat away. But expect the party to be short because "throw the thing at the thing" is coming out soon.

I was not intending to gloat nor anything. I was just saying that this would be a very interesting news article not seen anywhere else.

For what it's worth, I think it is a good idea.

I would like to have all the best selling games of the year in each genre all listed in one place. It would be a lot better than searching through the database myself.

Edit: An article like that should also get a few more hits for the website.

Maybe limited to 2008 releases.... though we'd want to include Wii Fit, too, given its release in the west.

I think its a good idea too, and to make people happy have a catagory for bundled games and then throw in wiisports there and other bundled games.

but be interesting to see which RPG, FPS, Action Adventure, Racing, Sports, Party, Sim, Platformer, ect. games where the best selling throughout the year

Edit: and not just released games in 08'  why should a game be discredited cause released previous year/s.  It should infact be praised more for it to manage to keep selling better than new games.
