well dont think it, cause it aint going to happen. sony will be here next gen for sure and maybe they will even release before the next xbox just to make sure they dont get another big head start. i dont think they will be releasing a year later ever again cause look what they get when they do. anyway if sony have learnt anything from the ps3 they will come back with vengeance with the ps4! no fucking $600 launch prices!!

The word 'will' is used incorrectly in this case, note how Sony dropping out is not a certain event. The use of will implies that it is certain, and is thus incorrect.

The sentence should read
Without Sony next gen, how would the xbox720 try to beat the Wii2 in sales?

Because then it is raising a theoretical situation that is know to have some possibility of happening, and instructs people to make ancillary predictions if this event does occur

Fair enough. I am just trying to imagine gaming without Sony, giving all th bad news we have heard.

Last generation the GameCube made profit being the third in sales. That was what saved them. Without the Wii this generation the gaming market would have been a hardcore technological arms race for the living room PC/entertainment center, pretty much what everyone expected anyway because most of the peoplo thought Nintendo was living the Market. gladly, it never happen. But Sony's position maybe worse. I hope not. But I was thinking, what would the gaming msrket be in the future having only Microsoft and Nintendo in the competition...

To actually answer the question, as long as the Wii2 doesn't threaten Windows too much, I think that MS would be quite happy to go for the same market with the 720 as they did with the 360.

I am in no way a Sony fan, but to think they won't be there next Gen is crazy. They'd have to fail with the PS4 to get to the point of not making a new system.
