Lets study the title of this thread

"Without Sony next gen, how will the xbox720 try to beat the Wii2 in sales?"

The word 'will' is used incorrectly in this case, note how Sony dropping out is not a certain event. The use of will implies that it is certain, and is thus incorrect.

The sentence should read
Without Sony next gen, how would the xbox720 try to beat the Wii2 in sales?

Because then it is raising a theoretical situation that is know to have some possibility of happening, and instructs people to make ancillary predictions if this event does occur
