Okay, there was quite a long discussion some months ago about why the post number you see when pressing "reply" and scrolling down, is different than your normal post number.

Well, I think I've figured out the reason.

When making a thread, your normal post number is not changed (by the OP). The one you get by scrolling down is.

It's a small mistake, but I thought I'd point it out.

I knew that making threads didn't count toward your post-number, but this means that theirs a way to actually keep tabs on how many threads you've made. Awesome.

Yeah, but it is only since they started to stop making OPs increase your post counts, which was with a site upgrade, but I have no clue when.

You're currently at 2 threads made for instance, whereas I'm at 37... No way I've made that many threads, so there might be something else inflicting as well.

I think it has to do with posting comments for news items, too.

Edit: On second thought, it looks like it does not.
