It really is with music. Its either they steal from you or you steal from them. If you want to support the artists, go see them in concert. That is where they make their money.

As much as I despise the record companies and the RIAA, taking something that isn't yours is still wrong. As much as they do wrong, they still promote the artists (yes, the ones they see fit to promote but that's another argument) and do many things to get music out there in the public eye.
They deserve their due, just like everyone else. On top of that, music is now available cheaply & DRM-free and you don't even have to buy an entire album any more. You can buy albums/songs from the artists themselves or from a myriad of digital or brick-and-mortar stores. There are more options for music fans than ever before. Sure, the RIAA has fought this at every step, but they've lost. The consumer has won.
Ten years ago, pirates said that they stole music because it wasn't available digitally. That changed. Five years ago, pirates said they stole music because it was chock full of DRM. That changed. Now, they claim to pirate because of the evilness (puts pinky to mouth) of the record companies and RIAA.
Just admit that you don't like paying for stuff and move on. There's no valid excuse not to pay for your music nowadays.
