Forums - Nintendo - Will Multi Wii Households Become Fairly Common?

I think it's pretty likely. I know I would want one that is mine so I can play the things I like. Also, kids do mess things up.

I think your analysis of the situation is accurate and therefore think there is merit to your prediction.

..and possibly. i doubt it will be widespread but for what it's worth i already know one household that has 2 just because they both like to game so much.

I was about to ask about the one on the right.....

I dont think it will.

1. Wii is portable enough that you can carry it with you. You don't need a second one at your cottage.
2. I can't think of a single game that would need 2 wii's to play local multiplayer.
3. Why would they get 2 Wiis when there are 2 other consoles on the market that offer something different.

Probably at most 5-10% or so of Wii owners will have more than 1 at the end of the generation.

my family has two wii's, although one of them wee did win at a raffle

hello how are you.

@disolitude

I think you should read the original post. He gave some pretty good reasons why someone might have more than one Wii in their home.

Take a hypothetical situation.

Middle Class Family (maybe Upper Middle Class) has two kids, mom, dad.
Both Kids had GBA SPs. Brother got the orginal DS. Sister got the DS Lite when it came out. Brother moved up to the DS Lite eventually. Mom got the DS Lite for the Cookbook and Brain Training games. Both Kids and perhaps even the mother will upgrade to the DSi when it comes out.

The same situation could and probably would happen with the Wii. Slightly less because it is a console and not a handheld but I could see the same family eventually owning 3 Wiis (1 for each kid and 1 for mom) not to mention if Nintendo can somehow get into the father's head.

And when colors come out that is going to be killer. I myself plan to purchase a blue Wii when and if it comes out as long as they don't come out with a special edition Legend of Zelda Wii when the next Zelda launches (got the LOZ DS with Phantom Hourglass)

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

its not about the price, i dont think people need more than 1 wii in a house. its not a handheld like DS where there are multiple in a household.

we are thinking to buy a second Wii, me and my brother always fight for who is going to play LoL!

but sure not a lot of families will buy a second one, the Ds is cheaper and smaller needs not tv or setup, is very different, almost every family has one Ds for each kid or a kid has both DS and DSL

that's a reason why DS is outselling the Wii, but in fact, Wii may become even more popular than the DS

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
