Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Wii 2009, year of the Core.

don't forget about renegade kid's game. That should be a good one

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Yes should be quite the year. I'm trying to wonder what the haters will complain about now. I mean 3rd party games sell, Nintendo will have good titles, and so will the 3rd party ones. I guess they'll think of something creative.

Anyways got to keep saving up money for all my purchases in 2009.

@Roma - We do have core games, but nothing like we should. It's pretty unbalanced, but 2009 should show us some awesome things.

@seth - F Zero would be amazing

@khan - Project HAMMER would be a beast

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

Hey don’t loop me in your little crazy would of “us” I am a gamer and not a member of these so called “sects” of hard and casual

If it’s a game that might be fun I will play it, I don’t need eye candy to enjoy myself, I don’t need simple controls, all I needs is fun and I am there

So as long as nin keeps making fun games, more power to them

We know about the Monster Games project and the Factor 5 project (though the status of the Factor 5 project is now in dispute), as well as something top-secret that Retro Studios has been working on. Aside from Pikmin 3, which is also coming

And holding fingers crossed for a revival of Project HAMMER, after the game was officially canceled, one of the higher ups at Nintendo Software Technology let slip that he was still working on it in a digipen lecture. Certainly that would be a game that would greatly benefit from a Motion Plus rework

Has Retor mentioned anything on their next game?

I think most of the games already mentioned will be at least announced in '09. Also Nintendo would be mad not to unleash a brand new Donkey kong platformer on their expanded audience. NSTC must be up to something, too.

ANIMAL CROSSING NEW LEAF FRIEND CODE:- 5129 1175 1029. MESSAGE ME.
ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

Core games don't exist. There's fun videogames and there's shitty videogames.

well what we know is:

monster game (im guessing f zero)
retro's game ( im guessing new IP)
Monolith RPG ( Matsuno project)
pikmin 3
zelda wii
next mario
factor 5 project if still in existence
then there are lots of other games that were announced at the october conference. but really we kniow next to nothing about first party developed games. we only know about wii sports resort really
