i'm having a hard time seeing what these numbers mean. They look like sell through not shipped, and it looks like he is speaking about US sales. Before he said sales were up 60% for the year up until november, but here he says sales are only up 40% leading me to believe that december sales must be down from last year. However he also said holiday sales are up 130% for ps3. I don't know how that is possible since ps3 sales were down 18% in november.

OOOOH i get it, it's not YOY increase it's an increase from this year's black friday to this year's december sales of 130%.

Honestly this is pretty vague about exactly what point in time is being measured against what point in time.

in the OP link he says sales are up 40% YOY, both are quotes from Ian Jackson, since he is SCEA he must be talking about USA.

130% is just increase over the period prior to Black Friday. 40% is YoY, which means they expect to have sold around 750k in December. That is a slight drop from last year, but the only way for PS3 to maintain it's 60% YoY increase would be if sales were also up 60% in December, anything below that would result in the annual YoY growth decreasing below 60%.

I see it as that since black friday (to now) they have had a year over year increase over the same period of 130%. As well as the 40% for the whole year.
