Is it possible? Yes... Sony is in deep shit for the foreseeable future, lots of unthinkable things are possible.

No way, they already forked billions of dollars into the PS3. They finally have it in a 'decent' spot to start running with it.
Playstation isn't their highest priority on the "cancel" list. It will start making them money, plus they still have exclusives rolling in, plus they have unannounced exclusives there going to spout.
Anyone who thinks their honestly going to shut down Playstation is: 1. A Fanboy or 2. A complete Hater.
There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.
I hope not, but lets face the facts. Sony is doing very, very poorly. There is the chance it could happen. Lets keep hoping it doesn't however and give our full support to sony.

NJ5 sums it all up here. I don't think it's likely, but the possibility is ery much there.

I do hear a lot of Microsoft fanboys say things like that. But I don't think they really believe it has a chance of happening, they're just showing off if you ask me.

No they wont.
Sony wont quit the console business either. It is potentially one of their most profitable business'. All they need to do with the PS4 is sell the console at a profit like Nintendo and for a reasonable price (no more than $400 on launch). The Playstation brand is still incredibly powerful.
Eventually yes, everything is eventually discontinued.

certainly the playstation brand is still powerful but how much has it lost this gen? its certainly not as powerful as it once was. One thing is for sure if and when they make ps4 there needs to be some drastic changes in their business handlings
