Forums - Sony Discussion - How many PS3s will Sony sell in 2009 assuming no price cut or Q4 price cut?

^ See thread title. Q4 = October - December.

If no price cut at all, I can see 5-7 million units sold. With a Q4 price cut, I'd say 7-9 million.

I see low numbers, 6M max.

I dont really care anymore though, id rather see Sony get back on its feet and sell 5M PS3's for a profit than sell 12M at a loss.

About 7 million.

^thats 6M with no price cut

around 8.5M with a substantial Q4 cut

8.3M with a Q4 cut

I don't think it will fall so much, more like 9-10 million without a cut (I don't expect a cut)

If they cut it in September/October (possible, but unlikely, and if it does happen probably only $50) then add an extra 1-1.5 million.

9 - 10 Million without

with price cut -- 12 Million

with price cut + GT5 & FF13(in japan) Q4/Q3 -- 13 Million

One thing for sure, more than 2008, meaning at least 10.5 million

TWRoO, it looks like you´re one of the few who believe the PS3 isn´t being discontinued :P

I don't see them matching their 2008 numbers without price cut. At this point people have not been convinced that PS3 is something they need. And at 399, the price just doesn't allow for an impulse purchase for most.

Also considering bluray players are much cheaper nowadays...

6 mil without, 8-10 with price cut in Q4. Sooner price cut will sell more...
