This has actually made me quite angry that his greatest hits have been published.

Okay, a bit of background for those of you who don't live in Britain. Recently the winner of the X-Factor got to number one with a cover of hallelujah, it was mostly brought by muppets as it was an extremely bad and tasteless cover.

Well, somebody has decided to jump on the back of this success and release Jeff Buckleys greatest hits. Those of you who are familiar with Jeff Buckley will know hat he released one album 'Grace' before he died, from which it had two singles I can name 'Mojo pin' and 'Hallelujah'. How can you produce a greatest hits album from someone that had one album? The only motivation was to milk a dead man for money, I would rather them have rereleased Grace.

The only people I can see buying this are idiots, no offense.

Hallelujah wasn't even his song anyway, it was Leonard Cohens, Jeff Buckley just covered it. And as Charlie Brooker said the song has gone from being one of the greatest songs ever to the song played at thick peoples funerals, which is exactly how I feel now with the cover and the senseless milking of it's new found popularity.

This is as bad as the time I saw all the discount Pink Floyd albums at the front of every record shop only 8 hours after Syd Barret died.

This is why I ignore the mainstream music industry. Problem solved.

^ Me too, mostly. I like to stay just outside the mainstream. I remember when I was a school and I used to listen to indie and the 'popular' kids listened to hip hop. Then within about week at A-levels they all got into indie, with bands I had never even heard of because they were manufactured pop going under the psudonym of indie. F**king mainstream crap I had never heard of, yet they were passionate that I didn't listen to indie and they did.

God I hate record companies

I've learned to not get too bothered by people crashing my scene - I just make fun of them and accept the fact I'm going to get lumped in with them. They aren't necessarily bad people, just annoyingly trendy (mindless sheep that embrace whatever is fed to them) and don't really "get" the subculture.

And for the record, I've spent a lot of time thinking about this as I listen to screamo. Do you know how much it annoys me considering what most people think screamo is? I say I listen to screamo and people think those really terrible mainstream bands that sound nothing like what I listen to (they are like two entirely different genres of music that share the same name). I just say I listen to hardcore now to avoid having to explain what I mean and ending up sounding like a pretentious tool.

I watched the video of Alexandre's version of Hallelujah' and I was almost sick. I f£$king hate x factor.

I prefer Jeff Buckley's cover of 'Hallelujah' to the original. Still one of the most beautiful songs of all time.

The greatest hits is a bit of a disgrace, but as long as it makes more people appreciate Jeff Buckley I don't mind.
