Forums - Sony - "PS3 Haters Lose Advantage, Jealousy Fuels Hostility"

Mike b what I say is true you know it and most people on here know it. Take for example some pics posted a a while back of gears 2 and how you came on the thread just to post about how well the photos were "touched up" and offerd nothing actual about the game. When ps3 game photos are posted do you make the same comments no lol and thats just one example. I cant be botherd to look anymore because frankly internet bickering is stupid. Lol narrow minded ive been called many things(some even true) narrow minded I am not lol. Have a good day mike b :)

Why are Sony fans the only people who believe the 10 year plan myth?

The PS1 survived for 12 years, the C64 survived for 12 years, the PS2 is still alive. It remains to be seen who's correct or not. If the PS3 does last 10 years, maybe you won't be posting here any more for people to rub it in.

though they were correct about the technology (after all, look at the Wii which isn't much more powerful than the Wii and will be the best selling console 8 years after the Gamecube launched)

Sony can also release a PS4 branded PS3.5 (not much R&D required), maybe release Playstation games which run on cheaper slimline PS3s as well as being able to take advantage of the higher specifications of a distant future PS4. (like a PC game can scale for different hardware) There are plenty of options.

WTF are you talking about my friend? You must be talking about someone else.

@CGI-Quality: Yes it is a failure, no matter how you want to think of it. It lost the market, lost lots of money (yes, Sony won't make the spent money back during the PS3). It would be a stepback if it didn't hurt the company.

@MikeB: Of course Sony will keep PS3 going as long as it's financially wise thing to do, but the point is, that it's not for Sony to decide. PSX and PS2 lasted long due to their popularity, but assuming that PS3 will manage the same with a fraction of its successors popularity, is somewhat insane.

Btw, since you're pretty familiar with PS3 tech, what if Sony released PS4 with Cell as CGPU, what would you guess the PS4 (and its CGPU) design would need to be for it being able to be BC with PS3 games?

I hate to break it to you, but the PS3 even at its higher entry pricing so far sold a lot faster than the original Playstation 1.

By the 30th of November 1996 (launched 1994 in Japan) the Playstation 1 shipped 10 million worldwide. It was a slow starter for Europe at the time.

@MikeB: But the difference is, that it was gaining in popularity, the thing that PS3 has failed to do. PSX really took off after its big hitters came out, while PS3 has already its biggest hitters out (aside GT5 and FF13, from which only the first is exclusive). The "big hype titles" failed in relation to hype they got and competition has a few "evergreen" titles out, which you can't beat with "better tech", since they weren't in the tech race to begin with. The aspect to competition for PS3 is completely different from the situation PSX was in.

Lord, just face it. The ps3 is a great machine but it won't have the succes of the ps2 or ps1

Anyway I haven't seen playstation hate anywhere.. Only the "ps3guys" whore/ing about hate

@ bdbdbd

And why can't the PS3 gain in popularity with a cheaper slimline PS3 and an awesome 2009 line-up?

On top of that, the Playstation performed better than the competition they had early on (the Sega Saturn) and by the time their main competition came out (the N64) sales had picked up to a level that the Playstation was showing the dominance that it became known for ...
