I'm saying that Mario Kart Wii will beat out Starcraft 2 in 2009. It will sell more this year than Starcraft 2 does.

If you think Starcraft 2 is goign to beat Wii Sports this year (we're looking at a possibility of thirty million units sold this year, with the floor being twenty-five) I don't knwo what to tell you. Do you mean it? Do you really expect Starcraft 2 to sell more than twenty-five million copies?

Or do you mean that you expect Starcraft 2 to beat Mario Kart Wii in the window from SC2's launch until the end of the year? That wouldn't make it the biggest game of the year, just the biggest game of August.

Wait wait, truth on Wii Sports. I was thinking Wii Resort! And true, no point of backing out of a Jan 1 - Jan 1 sales report for Kart. It would take the Sims 3 to beat out Wii Sports.

Then so be it! This will be our bet! For the Jan 1-Jan 1 window, beginning with this week's numbers for 2009 and ending with the last week's numbers for the same year, I hereby bet that Mario Kart Wii (and Wii Fit, and Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Sports, but right now we will focus on Kart) will outsell Starcraft 2.
