The Wii is still a Fad in my eyes. Successful fad, but a fad nonetheless. THe wii is like an overpriced toy that luls in the soccer moms of the world with the promise of being fun and healthy for you.

This has proven to be true, some of the games are fun, it is kinda healthy for you. Yet beyond the wiifit, wiisports, wii(put name here) kinda games this system is a total bust! The complete lack of games that interest hardcore gamers is astounding for a company that knows the market more then anyone. The wii is still using last gen tech with a twist, of course it cant be reasonably compared with the PS3 and 360. The wii may be the best sellying system right now, but so are cell phones. Cell phones play games as well, should they be lumped in with handhelds?

The Wii has been sold out for three years now after continuing to up production numbers.  That's not a fad.

Using that excuse makes you look just as silly as the people that say the PS3 has absolutely no games.

The furby was a fad and lasted more than two years. Nobody is buying furby's anymore.

Normally, I wouldn't comment on such a pretentious post, but it's just getting absolutely silly around here lately. As Torillian mentioned earlier, some fans (of anything) have their little nuance's, annoyances, behaviours, etc. Hockey fans will complain that other sports are too slow, metalheads will say country is for pussies, vegans will say that you're a murderer if you eat meat. Now, these are all generalisations and presonally, none of them speak for me, nor do they speak for the groups that I had mentioned. So to say that 'most' or even 'a lot' of them see things like that is very presumptuous as well as very arrogant.

It's like me saying: Nintendo fans call most HD gamers shallow, for only liking only games with good graphics or with gore and guns. However, most of them gushed over The Conduit as soon as they noticed that the graphics were actually quite good. But of course that isn't shallow because they have the excuse that it simply means they're putting a strong effort into the game, which would beg the question, does great graphics on the HD consoles infer any less effort?

Now I don't believe that most Nintendo fans see things that way, nor do I believe a lot of them do. Obviously some do, but that's the way it is with anything, as I mentioned earlier. It's hardly something of note, nothing that needs to be brought to attention. I think it should be obvious that there will always be people who lay irrational fandom before logic.

I don't mean to come off as harsh, but laying claim to knowing how most, or a lot, of a group of people see the world around them, is just...sadenning.

Where are the story heavy wii games? The epic games with high difficulty levels?

People bought GI Joes for like 15 years but now nobody really buys them.  FAD CONFIRMED!!

And what about print, that lasted hundreds of years but print is dying.  FAD CONFIRMED!!
