maybe it is a virus. Try going to

bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

to scan your computer using it, you have to be using internet explorer

Hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE when it pops up, and try to identify the process in the task manager.

Look for GWScan in your program list. Sounds like it might be that program. You should also be able to turn off the pop ups in the program.

It'll update. Then run a Full system scan.

2. Also, download this one, SuperAntiSpyware, the Free edition:

Install, update, run full system scan.

Both are free, you don't need to pay. I use them personally, they're good.

OK, you definitely have spyware going on.  Run those spyware programs in Safe mode for best results.

Switch to Firefox.  I can tell you are likely suing Internet Explorer.  With Firefox (and a good firewall), you'll likely never have this problem again once it's removed.

Nah,  after my last computer crashed i used nothing but firefox on this one.  I'll try those programs though, hopefull they'll work.

Do you have a firewall?

Have you checked your startup programs list?

Yeah, though just the one that comes with windows.

It blocks L4D and other such online games until i allow them, so it's blocking SOMETHING.

That and when I use Avast i use the Web Shield function as well.
