Well since you're such a Metacritic nerd and can't seperate your opinion from theirs, tell me what my worst PS3 games EVARRR scored there. Hmmm...doesn't seem to be too bad at all with Fight Night at an 83, NBA Street at an 81 and The Darkness at an 80. Oh wait, I forgot. Metacritic is only your tool when it's convenient, and in this case it's most definitely not.

Onyx... i'd just rent Motorstorm and check out the online community for yourself.

I don't trust people here. I think they'd tell you what you'd like to hear just to get an extra sale out of you. A lot of people here (all consoles) are worse then viral market plants.

Yup. As was mentioned in this thread, I was looking for a solution to a very weighty pocket of cash. After much deliberation and throwing out of opinions, I decided to buy a PS2 to replace my old one and a game or two for my 360, as was ultimately suggested of me. So why bother posting that crap here? Because that is not what ended up going down, as fate stepped in.

I have two best friends. One of my friends and I own a 360 and play together constantly. My other friend owns a PS3. He does not play with us. He plays with himself. So we've been peer pressuring him to get a 360 for a while now, but he's been diligent in his laziness about hopping on the Gates train. When I told him of my own consideration of going for a PS3, he had the lone awesome idea of his life. He said if I would buy him the Pro 60GB 360, he would give me his black behemoth. With a little further wrangling I managed to score this:

An original 60GB fully backwards compatible PS3
An extra Sixaxis controller
A wireless headset
Fight Night Round 3
NBA Street Homecourt
The Darkness
Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, Go Sports Skiing, and Mortal Kombat II on the HDD

All this for the purchase of a $300 Pro 360, a $30 Gamestop giftcard and the promise I would put three other games up on Craigslist for him to sell. Boo yah!

Now that I got my PS3, I can let you Sony kids know you're banned over PSN! Also now I can play some Odin Sphere! Woo hoo!

So now for something worth discussing. It came with the S-Video cables that come standard with the console because my friend did not have an HDTV to know to go buy something else for it. It's hitting me with the eye burning 480i right now. If I pick up an HDMI cable today that's an automatic fix to 720p right? I just know there was some old issue with PS3s and either downscaling or upscaling, so I just want to make sure before I get home with an HDMI cable and dissappoint myself.

Oh also anyone with Motorstorm 2, can you tell me how active the online community is? Target is selling for $40 right now, and I want to jump in, but only if it's worth it. Does it look like there'll be a community in 6-12 months?
