Guessing he stated that because of the graphical capabilites, there is no point in remaking 7-9 on the DS as it would be about the same as the original game.  psp on the other hand they would be able to have a little more updated graphics and gameplay

They'd also be more expensive, though, would be pirated more often, and have a much lower installbase to sell to.

very true but they took that risk with Crisis Core already so you never know.
