Forums - Nintendo - Looking for a "How to" guide to get SDHC cards formatted for my Wii.

I remember seeing an article by someone awhile ago about getting SDHC cards running properly by using a formatting trick.  I can't seem to track down this article though.  I don't want to discuss homebrew or anything of that nature so if you come to this thread with that I'll report your post ;)

If you can find the article, please post a link to it here!

Thanks for the help!

This is not possible. What I have seen is a guide for how to use a 4GB SD (not SDHC) on Wii.

Do you recall the website address? I want to see if it's the same thing I read before.

Wait till Nintendo unlock its capability is your safest bet.

could the wii read hdsd cards with just a software update? would it need any new hardware to do this?

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568

The same hardware, a different software. So we must wait for Nintendo.

I've posted on the SDHC drivers that Nintendo purchased the rights to use back in 2007 on here before. Smash Brothers Brawl has the driver included. Why other games etc. don't is kind of perplexing though.

@Daileon: can you find that website you mentioned?

Yeah, Nintendo locked it to 2GB for some unknown reason...
Brawl seems to be the only game to be able to read beyond 2GB, according to some sources.

I found :)

Ya... I did exactly that tonight with a 4GB non SDHC card and it works as he says. I used just over 600MB for VC and Wii Ware games.
