Forums - Sony - FIRST KILLZONE 2 REVIEW??? GAMEDAILY REVIEWS IT

THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL REVIEW.  READ THE PART HIGHLIGHTED IN RED BELOW.

Killzone 2 (PS3- February 27)

Much like Resistance 2, Killzone 2 has a character issue. As much as we tried to like protagonist Sgt. Tomas Sevchenko, we just couldn't warm up to such a cookie cutter hero or care about the story. As a shooter, however, Killzone 2 provides wall-to-wall action. We could do without battling enemies that look startlingly similar, but for the most part, we had fun blazing through the war-torn locales, chucking grenades and shooting baddies. The special effects, weapon and character detail is among the best we've seen on PlayStation 3, and multiplayer extends the game's life, thanks to intense firefights that kept us up past our bedtimes. It will never live up to that infamous E3 2005 footage, but for what it's worth, Killzone 2 deserves respect.

overall score: 8.0/10 (same score as resident evil 5 it seems)

lol this is just a prediction from gamedaily

So basically, it has a mediocre story (just like the majority of shooters) but great gameplay. Seems fine to me.

If Killzone 2 has intense levels like Chicago and Iceland in Resistance 2, I can't possibly ask for more!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Yep.  I mean, it's not like there is much room to work in with the "Space Marine" story anyway.

It sounds like Killzone 2 is a great improvement over Killzone but still falls short of other shooters that are already on the market ...

8/10

Isn't it just a little bit disappointing after years of hype? Will wait for further reviews.

Hmm, I can get their gripes with the story/charcaters, but that's not enough to make it an 8/10... provided that it has terrific gameplay and graphics.

I'm gonna wait for Gamespot and IGN.

Have they really gotten the final build so early?
