Forums - Nintendo - are the GC remakes of RE2 and RE3 any good?

I've gone through a RE binge the last few months, just beat RE2 on Dreamcast a few days ago and am most of the way through the original on Saturn. 2 is great, and relatively easy as the series goes. The remake of RE1 is the best place to start though. RE3 is my least favorite though Zero would be except it looks just great. RE4 is great but not really a RE game mechanics-wise. Code Veronica is great as well, very plot driven.

Only gamecube version I have played is zero but I have played 2 and 3 on PS1 and they are great!

REmake and RE0 were both amazing GCN games. I havn't played RE2 or RE3 yet, however, I'm not sure if I wanna invest thirty dollars in a PS1 port.

RE4 was a good game on the Wii. But, mer, not a RE game. =/

ah, that upsets me, but I need to play them somehow, so I guess I'll be playing ports =x

I would suggest playing the original PS1 versions because GC versions are suppose to be terrible.

If you have never played RE2/3 and own a dreamcast then get the dremcast versions, the DC versions contain extras not included on any PS1 or GC version, mainly theatre mode, artwork and 3D model gallaries on RE2 and extra costumes on RE3.

Agreed, the DC versions seemo be the definitive in many ways, and I believe they all support the VGA cable as well. Not that the GC versions are bad, but they are pretty much PS1 ports while the DV got some decent extras.

I was originally going to write that they're good games, but still horribly overpriced...

...until I realized that you have almost no chance of finding any other version nowadays. I cherish my RE2 discs.
