I mean, just look at it:

a) If he is right, he is going to be considered a great analyst and predictor by many

or

b) If he is clearly wrong, he just set up one big April Fool's Joke.....not a great one because it is highly unbelievable, but an April Fool's Joke nonetheless.

I'm sorry but this sounds like a shot in the dark or a bad idea(and/or both).  Planning on a recorded loss in the Q1 of a fiscal year is not a great way to satisfy your investors.

Pachter is so clever nobody understands when he's joking.  

Easter is 12 April, so the cut could be Friday 3 or Saturday 4, before Palm Sunday, giving the opportunity to exploit Easter holidays and the end of Lent too.

PS3 $100 Price cut announcement on April 1 by Sony redirects us and well it will be rick roll'd again.

Sony probably has some good reasons - beyond profit - for not cutting the price.

Look at it this way. Ther have been engaged in a game of 'chicken' with Microsoft, waiting for who would blink first.

Microsoft has blunk, with aggressive price cuts. But there is a chance that these will backfire in the long term - that Xbox 360 will end up being seen as the console for those who can't afford a Wii or a PS3 - the low-end alternative.

Maybe not in the US, but possibly everywhere else.

Idon't expect Sony to do anything for another six months at least. And maybe not even then.
