I would predict a $100 price drop to $299 for the cheapest model at E3 this year.

Potentially, Sony could sell 3 million more units at a $50 incremental loss each. That's a $150 million loss, which is hard to reconcile with the job cuts the company has announced."

If each new PS3 owner buys an extra controller and 2-3 games, Sony breaks even. Software sales are where the money is at. They need to sell more hardware to increase software sales.

Has he not been pretty spot on with his predictions? I only remember him saying the Wii would not do well but so did many others. He has a lot of faith in the PS3 though, gotta love him. :)
idk they should.....a $50 price cut should be around november or december....
Sony is loosing too much money per console.
it wouldn't make any sense dropping the price a bit early and sales go through the roof, it will lead to a big loss for Sony

I thought no one would perceive that. If it happens on 1st of April, jokes will arise.

I predict (ive said this before)
E3 09:
Sony drops the 80gb to cut out stock they drop it to $279.99
Announce new 100gb model BUNDLED with little big planet for $299, Announce a BC model with killzone 2 as well as a 200gb HDD for $399
Cut the 160gb to $379.99 to kill off stock
Drop the ps2 to $99.99 (and possibly cut the psp to $139.99/$179.99 for bundles)
If they do that, they will do amazingly well the 2nd half of the year, by amazingly well I mean PSP/PS3 sales will double-triple compared to the 1st half of the year, and PS2 sales will hold or slightly increase.

If GT5 releases next year I have no doubt a $100 price cut will occur. Software is what primarily makes the $$$ and you need a PS3 to play PS3 games. (crazy ne?)

If they do announce either of these I will buy but I would trade in Killzone for LBP.
Former something....

If they do that, they'll lose a lot of money, because selling price < production cost. (PS3)
Fixed.
