Actually after taking a second look, the 360 version looks a quite a bit better, even to the point where you can see stuff thats actually missing in the PS3 version. That seems a little suspect to me.

Hence the different builds.

This is why I hate graphical comparisons.

Anyone here actually stop mid game and zoom in to stare at the ground and/or walls?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

The 360 has a more powerful GPU then the PS3. Which is why no one finds these comparisons surprising anymore.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

You don't really need to do that to notice the graphical differences in this game. There are more examples, but I'll put the most blatant one here.

360 version:

PS3 version:

Notice how her earring, the earpiece and her hair cast shadows on her face on the 360 version. The same shadows are totally absent in the PS3 version. This is called self-shadowing, and it requires significant effort and processing power to implement.

The 360 screenshots are technically superior, no doubt about it. The only question is whether these differences will be present in the retail version.

PS: I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version is running at a higher resolution than the 360 one. The improved graphics on the 360 version are certainly worth decreasing the resolution if necessary.

What's the difference? Does it really matter? I mean I think that both games will sell pretty well. Who cares which console has the better graphics? It doesn't define which game will sell more. It obvious didn't work for the PS3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV. I honestly think that both of them look the same.

Totally agree in that both versions look good and it doesn't matter much unless your a fanboy. But please, GTA4 looks better on PS3 in your opinion.

A lack of dithering, more natural colors and better contrast can be very appealing to the eye, even if the 360 version of the game is technically better because it runs at a higher resolution with true 2x FSAA. The 360 version of GTA IV is technically superior but that doesn't mean that people are wrong when they say they prefer the PS3 version.

In the case of the RE5 demo, it's clear that the 360 version looks better. But I also think a very good case can be made that they're just using different builds of the game. RE5 should end up looking the same on both consoles, with the 360 version having a technical advantage in antialiasing and nothing else.

the demos are from older built,,,capcom said this themselves. newer built (final built)looks exactly the same.

Hmm isn't this what happened with fallout 3? Then fallout 3 got a patch and now looks better on PS3? 360 fanboys keep trying but one only needs to compare exclusives like Killzone 2 or Uncharted to any game on 360 and then they wanna start talking about PC games or how Wii sells the best, you know change the topic real quick. PS3 is more powerful then the 360 hands down don't fool yourself. Don't accept candy from strangers kids.

Also for GTA 4 while resolution is higher on 360 there is much more pop in reminicent of an N64 game. The PS3 install adds to far less pop up and thus looks more realistic.

like always the 360 looks better.

^^^that's the demo though,,,the final version looks exactly the same(demo is an old built)
