@Sardauk 9 million people fooled? No, but how amazing is Carnival games? ^^ How about Mario and Sonic at the olympics? Would you call GT3 one of the best games ever? How about the Jonas Brothers ^_^ Do you like them? They seem to be all the rage at the moment!

Popularity has little to do with the actual quality of something. I've made constant rants about why halo 3 is popular, I don't want to get into it. But let's just say it's got mass market appeal :) Where as a title like Killzone 2 probably will not.

I was really not into Halo at the beginning but I gave it a try... and the online multiplayer mode convinced me. It is by far the most well done, advanced system you can have on a console to play online.

Now people compare it to other game by judging the campaign and this is bs! Yeaa I'm not into the story... with those weird gay alien etc...

But I'm convinced that HALO 3 is popular for his multiplayer.

Don't forget this is the most played online game on XBL, and this is related to its quality (http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Halo3/Default.aspx?player=Sardauk)

So I personaly not agree with your statment and the fact that you already applied it to Killzone 2

that didn't make a  whole lot of sense...

No, it did not but a retard could decipher what he is trying to say.

"9 Million copies sold is a testament to it's quality, maybe it's not the graphics, maybe it's not the innovation. But it must have something going for it to sell that much besides hype and marketing....possibly a well rounded balanced fun and accessible multiplayer?"

Something like that maybe mister Million?

See I took the same leap, and found Halo 3's multiplayer to be garbage :/ I only enjoy halo for it's campaign mode. Maybe to you it's the most advanced well done... blah blah blah to date, but I simply think otherwise. Myself and MANY other people who have been playing FPS's long before Halo, all seem to agree that Halo is a pretty straitforward shooter, with some amount of polish. And it being the most played game on XBL again has nothing do with quality >_>;;; Popularity =/= quality... It's one of the most played games because it's by far the most accessible title to play online. Everyone and they're mother (literally in some cases!) plays halo, a high userbase that owns the game is what keeps this popular, not because the game is any good.

WTF do you need to call a game good then ?

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

In my opinion, you need something that caters more to a specific taste, as opposed to an all around experience. In my opinion. Halo is like a Ham sandwich, with bread, and ham, devoid of all condiments. Mind you! This ham and bread are of pretty good quality, it just doesn't have any extra flavor. By it'self, the bread and ham are pretty much all you really need to form a sandwhich, but in order to make it truely GREAT, you need that specific flavor which only you can really decide. Halo is the barebone game which puts everything it needs to be "good", however Halo to me can and will never be "Great".  By adding pickles to the sandwich, you now alienate everyone who does not like pickles, however, those who do like pickles are quite a bit happier with the sandwich.

There are MANY people who played halo as they're first FPS game. They're not as experienced and well versed as many of the PC enthusiests, and thus you'll find tons of PC gamers that are just "meh" about halo.  Ending short because my boss is like eyeing me strangely >_>

This one is pretty good IMO. Halo 3 is one of the most overhyped games around, it's IMO a good target.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."
