The game will sell well because it will release in North America shortly after the Japanese release. The hype will carry it in to the American market. Of course this all depends on the reviews, but I got a good feeling about this one. It looks to be a winner.

Ah, I think this is an emerging trend with JRPG sales in the West. It *seems* that the longer the delay, the worse the game sales. Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, The Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery all saw releases pretty close to their Eastern releases (usually within 1-3 months)....All did pretty respectible vs. the Japanese sales. Whilst Blue Dragon and Valkyria Chronicles were pretty late, and sold rather poorly given the Japanese sales numbers.

I know in Blue Dragon's case, it was pretty atrocious. The game got Western reviews (before it came here) in the high 80's and low 90's. Once it released here, the reviews were horrible, and gave the game high 70's....Which was wierd given the glowing previews of the game. Methinks the delays can hurt anticipation for any given Eastern title, and hurt sales.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

leo you have reverted to type recently havent you.

The ps3 is by no means  a sinking ship, if you consider selling 4 million consoles more than the year before a sinking ship, then idk what is wrong with you.

Of course it sold more in 2008 then it did in 2007 you twit.

In most markets the PS3 was not even launched till March 2k7 or even later.

If Star Ocean hadn't become so popular on SONY platforms, it wouldn't even be worth money hatting.  They're excluding the vast majority of their fans with this game by going to 360.  Do they expect it to move consoles?  Cuz I don't see it doing that.  The majority of Star Ocean fans who have already bought next gen consoles have most likely gotten a PS3, assuming the next Star Ocean would release on it - I'm one of them.  Am I the only one seeing this as a slap in the face?  Out of principal, I'll rent this game for 360 and beat it, and then return it.  If they come out with a PS3 version, I'll buy it.  It's no secret I prefer my PS3 over my 360, but this is a title I fully expected to be, at the very least, multiplat.

Well they are at the price point when buying arcade just to play 4 or 5 games isn't impossible.

That's exactly why SO4 has a pretty good chance of getting a million copies(or close to it) no matter what system it is on.

SE dropped Sony exclusivity when PS3 sales bombed. You can't blame SE for wanting to jump off a sinking ship.

holy shit the ps3 is a ship too? damn it really can do everything good thing ships come with life boats so they can get away safely

star ocean will sell i think around 1 million at least on the 360. and by the time star ocean comes out, lost odyssey will be extremely close to hitting 1 million in lifetime sales. i think rpg's can sell on the 360, lost odyssey and last remnant have certainly proved it. blue dragon over 500k sold, tales of vesperia will do over 500k as well. thats all pretty damn good for a console that wasnt even romotely close to being known for a rpg system. and i think this gen , m$ has proved that a well made rpg game , that is shown support through ads and trailers can and will see a very good amount. i think all systems will have a good share of rpg games when this gen is over, wii and 360 i think will have the most with the ps3 having a still healthy amount.

I am really suprised by TLR's legs which are very good for a JRPG.  And we all though LO's legs were good.  Then again, I think releasing the game in November during the holiday season might have a bit to do with it.

Don't forget that Star Ocean is a well known series which WKC is a all new fresh game.
