SE dropped Sony exclusivity when PS3 sales bombed. You can't blame SE for wanting to jump off a sinking ship.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

It will do better than it would being a PS3 exclusive, but worse than being a multiplat. Star Ocean 4 is the last game in the series, so they dont care about the future of SO brand, it will only be used for the remakes after.

It's also very interesting how you say Star Ocean didnt do well on Playstation platforms, I guess 1.3 million copies sold in Japan+North America is a terrible result for an RPG game.

And untill some PS3 jRPG sells much much much better than Lost Odyssey did worldwide I can't take all of these "jRPGs dont sell on 360" claims seriously.

Honestly, that's because of the lack of RPG's on the PS3.  The ones we do get are 360 ports/360 timed exclusives mostly..besides a couple.  360 gets way more, money hats way more, and they still have lackluster sales.  Can't blame that on PS3, as I'm sure the majority of PS3 owners, like myself, refuse to pay full price for old games.

I don't think so. It looks like a decent game so far. If you have absurdly high expectations, then prepare for an atomic bomb. tri-Ace is not that godly. RPGs this gen have not been that great so far either.

Naw the J man thinks this game will do better than all the rpgs on the 360 because this one isnt a new ip and there are alot of fans for it and it looks great to boot.

Square has been very weird this gen , making ff13 multiplat but not versus and releasing an exclusive for a microsoft console.

Maybe they are doing this because most ps2 owners migrated to the 360.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

I don't think it will bomb, I think it will do decent sales. I'm thinking 750,000 to a million lifetime sales.

I think... a lot of people have high non-realistic expectations for this game.

A sinking ship that sold 4 million more consoles this year than last year.

The only sales that "bombed" are 360 sales in japan.

Well, SO is not a big franchise:

I don't think that SO4 will do the million, 700k at best.

No RPG can really afford to be exclusive these days... SO4 won't be on the 360 for more than 6 mos before a PS3 version is announced.

RPG sales are just not good enough to justify exclusivity... and in response to the OP, no RPG really has great potential on the PS360, with the possible exception of FF XIII.

Yes SO4 will bomb if it is forever exclusive to the 360, as ever other exclusive JRPG (not to be confused with WRPGs like Fable II and Oblivion) on either the PS3 or 360 has. It will perform on average if its a cross platform title.
