That article is seriously flawed, as the arcade is certainly not a gimped system. I have one and a pro and I spent 20 dollars extra and it does everything the pro does. This was obviously someone who's somewhat perturbed at the 360's success.

Oh my god.. im getting tired of people with the NXE sigs trolling the ps3, honestly if this doesnt stop im going to stop going to this site.

Unfortunately, you are the second uneducated consumer I have corrected in the last hour.  The $100 upgrade pack includes the 60GB HDD, ethernet cable, headset, and 3 months of XBL.  The arcade package includes Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda as well.  The SD thing is true, but every PS3 is also SD out of the box and requires an HDMI cable.  That so called "article" was very flawed and was it really posted in October?  AFTER the 360 started ramping up sales and demolishing the PS3?  What an idiot!

 

they missed out on it until they get the upgrade pack why not just just go for the pro besides i was just stating the reasons y the xbox was killing the ps3 and they were b/c the 360 is half the price and that they now have most all sony's 3rd party exclusives if the 360 wasn't half the price meaning that if there were only a 300$ Pro and $400 Elite i don't think that it would be killing it ATM

@nightsurge - Three minutes of waiting takes the "awe" factor of a game out for you? I waited upwards of 3 years for games like MGS4, GTAIV, RE5, Final Fantasy XIII/VXIII...three minutes of installs is not enough to call the experience hard to launch. Games like Resistance 2 take 60 seconds to install and it makes the experience of the game even more fun.

My idea of this topic is the same as simulacrum.

Trolling the PS3?  You do realize this topic is in the "Microsoft" forum, right?  Who's trolling, again?

And why hate on my NXE sig?  It's so pretty and special!  If I actually had any trophies I'd add my PSN sig as well =/

My idea of this topic is the same as simulacrum.

I'm not saying it makes the game less enjoyable, just dulls the excitement of "Oh I bought a game and will go home and immediately play it!"

Also, most of the PS3 games I've played had much longer installs than 3 minutes.  MGS4 had a 30 minute install, plus all those small 2 minute installs.  I am not saying it is "Hard" to launch, just a bit more of a hassle than a 360 or Wii game.
