If WKC goes on to be the best selling HD JRPG worldwide then it's something to celebrate this is not considering you have eliminated all competition in the wii, psp, ds. Hell the fact you are even comparing the PS3 to 360 as a sign of success shows how amazing microsoft have been doing this gen in Japan. Last generation how many people would have used the xbox as a benchmark for the PS2 in Japan? No one. Whereas now suddenly beating the 360 in Japan is an achievement for the PS3.

Anyway if WKC is the best selling HD RPG worldwide then great very impressive. Being the best selling rpg in japan compared to the 360 isn't exactly a champagne moment.

Realistically WKC should be able to get to a million worldwide. It's not cell shaded or stylized graphics which definetly helps in america and europe. Realistic RPG's clearly do better there, so that should help. It probably won't do as well as LO in America but should do better in others. I think there's a lot of casual PS3 fans that bought the console expecting lots of rpgs to keep coming like on the ps2 so they will snap up WKC when they get the chance. So yea im waiting to see if it can beat LO.

Congrats. WKC joins the 8 other Playstation 3 games that have outsold the X360's best seller in Japan. Why didn't they get a thread for that?

I hope WKC is a success and Playstation fans enjoy the game, as I enjoy my 7 JRPGs I own for my 360 :)

Plus WKC got low score from Famitsu while LO, TOV, IU and TLR got much higher score.

You got to it before I did. Hell, I'm finding it hard to enjoy Lost Odyssey and that's supposed to be one of the better JRPGs on the system. You'd have to have pretty low standards to enjoy those "other" ones. And Stickball, if you're really wondering why those other games didn't get threads, you just missed the ENTIRE POINT OF THIS THREAD. DMeisterJ was pointing out how an RPG on the PS3 (which you have repeatedly claimed haven't been proven to sell well) can outsell every 360 game in Japan (RPG or not) in its first week. Yes it has a userbase advantage, yes it's a big developer, yes there was a lot of advertising...but so what? This is to everyone, by the way.

Its actually kinda awesome seeing the xfriends go into defence mode and proclaim: "large install base!" "its Japan!" "its ACTUALLY below expectations!" "why are you so happy its no surprise at all!" "Its just first day numbers... it will probably only reach 175k, the preview doesnt matter" just to piss on everyone's parade. Its even more amusing when you look back at some of these guy's previous comments regarding its debut show how they keep changing their mind in regards to their pessimistic stance and just to see them formulate different yet still negative perspectives to discredit its sales.

Especially considering the JRPGs released on their platform were actually more anticipated and somewhat alot more branded that Level 5. Seriously, despite Level 5 starting to become more and more recognized in the business, Square enix is still way over there in terms of branding. Theres probably alot more name dropping on Square than Level 5 in japan.

It just kinda shows how difficult it is for the x-crowd to show some respect, especially when its clear as day that it sold better than any of the other JRPGs released on HD consoles so far in Japan. Somewhat shows some folks true nature. hah
