well not sure exactly how many arrows i put to rank mine better but for better games without more than 1 arrow I agree except for prime.  Sure the first one had great points to it cause of the free flow of it and wasn't so linear, but the wii controls i feel made the game great and easily made up for any other faults it had.  So I would put them at least at equal. 

Haven't played a party game in quite some time, or at least fully.  Played some here or there 1, 3, 5, 7, and so on.  But beyond 1 I never took the time ever to unlock the stuff and get everything bought ect so never got to get the full enjoyment out of them so can't really rate which is best.  Still think the best mario kart games was spinning the joystick as fast as you can to make the plane fly far, and the rolling on the bumber balls.  Dont' think any mini games can ever beat those.

@BigJon: The SSB part was quite hard. For the core part SSBM is better, but Subspace Emissary really ups the score for Brawl. Brawl also has online and a few online related features, but since the online works pretty badly, that kinda takes away the points for online. To put it short; if you bought the game as a sequel to Melee, then Melee is better (despite Brawl having a few good improvement to the core of the game) and if you look the games as not in context of the other game, then i would say Brawl would be better.

What Nintendo's been pushing out has largely been better than it's past efforts. Everything except Metroid Prime got better, and Metroid Prime 1 is almost impossible to top, but 3 was certainly better than 2, so there's that.

The only thing they're screwing up this generation is release scheduling. It's always feast or famine in terms of top-tier content, never in between.

I agree with irstupid. Nintendo will never top the original Mario party. Period. I remember the joystick twirling aeroplane game. That was good. Also yeh.. bumper balls but what about the game where you all fight over the hammer? I think it was called coin block bash. It is hilarious in 4 player and io still play it with the kids now! Also the one where you pump up Bowsers face till it explodes. The original and best party game!

the average goes to the drain when u add wii music, and nintendo have produced more games but not the AA third party games, and it look like they will end up in the ps3 + 360. for the rest of generation.

nintendo will likely continue to sell kart, fit for a good while.

but i used the GC controller to play kart and brawl, so i think those games would benefit for a generation game more than fit or music.

Why mention 3rd parties? This thread is about Nintendo 1st party quality.

Nintendo this generation is at its prime. Any notion that it is falling is just flamebait.

Nintendo has not only produced its AAA franchises from other generations (Smash, Super Mario, Mario Kart, Pokemon, Zelda, Metroid) but has made many new franchises that have made them top in both sales in software and hardware.

Their Wii series, even if disliked, have made this generation. The Brain Age/Nintendogs started it all. And new core IPs are being produced, but their quality can be questioned. (I.E. Disaster)
