Forums - Nintendo - Do you still think that there will be a kid icarus?

Yes, I really think IGN didn't have too much to talk about, then they drank some beer, and finally wrote the article about a posible kid icarus. It is incredible, more or less at the same level than Sadness, but at least this one had a project of trailer with a girl emulating the game.

Connecting Factor 5 and Kid Icarus is imo just a stupid rumor. I don't know if we'll see a Kid Icarus, SSBB did revive Pit (Kid Icarus' main character) but I don't think thats enough. Maybe a DS title? I wouldn't mind that.

And so as Kid icarus itself. Why cant we just admit it? KI will not happen.

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

You never know, but I guess your right, chances are pretty low. And now that I think about it, I don't even know if I want next Kid Icarus game. The only thing I like related to KI is SSBB's Pit (my main there). I played both games (NES and GB) and I can't say they are best games around. They are all right but nothing special.

Now if Ninty fans accept that there'll be no KH3 on the Wii...

Just a hypothetical argument ...

Suppose for a moment that Factor 5 was developing Kid Icarus and it was supposed to be released in October or November to be a big holiday release. If Factor 5 needed to delay the game Nintendo would analyze the progress and quality of the project and they may have decided to "Cancel" the project (potentially farming it out to another developer). With Factor 5's financial position and how poorly Lair was received , a cancelation of a game from Nintendo might push Factor 5 over the edge and few publishers would want to deal with them in that position.

You know what I was thinking? This might be a crazy conspiracy theory but what if the reason IGN kept pushing those KI rumors was because they wanted Nintendo get the hint and thus forced the rumor onto the fanbase so that everyone would be talking about it, generating more possibilities of a KI game on the Wii?

And Yushire, after the Dragonquest X announcement ANYTHING is possible. The KH series has been featured on Nintendo platforms. At the very least a spin off or remake is possible.

i wouldn't hold my breat for a new KI. there was never any proof that it was in development.

I don't know what IGN was thinking about but please, let's be a bit more profesional!

It was confirmed that Factor 5 was working on *something* for the Wii. Whether it was a project in cooperation with Nintendo, a Nintendo IP, or something they were doing on their own, is totally unknown.

Equally, Factor 5's "closure" is yet to be anything but rumor. I would think if they were working on a Nintendo IP, they wouldn't close. Such a game would be almost guaranteed to profit. They would simply downsize out the less promising projects, which has been confirmed also

Now, whether or not that is Kid Icarus is still speculation. I say no.
