hum no you are right happy.... that's why the XBLA is awesome too.... I loved playing castelvanya again, i'll probably buy prince of persia, marathon, sonic, track'n field soon.... I have already a good bunch of them downloaded... that's what I like about XB I have the high end graphics... and every week for about 10 bucks I can get my hand on some arcade classic old hall of fame games... and some sweet new mini games....

hey the other day I spent 2 hours playing geometry war evolved... (still coundn't do a good score at that game lol but I love it :) )

In my opinion the main problem with the XBox 360 is that it is not "inexpensive entertainment" and Microsoft isn't making much of an effort to make it "inexpensive entertainment" ... Last November Microsoft should have reduced the price of the XBox 360 to $300 and next May they should have dropped it to $200; at the rate they're going the XBox 360 will never be at a price where the average consumer will become interested in it.

The prices you name are unrealistic at this point in the console's life given its starting point.  But I do wish they'd make Xbox Live subscriptions free.  That seems reasonable to me.  And I think it'll really start hurting them in a year or two if they don't.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

Not really, the Gamecube dropped 1/4 of its price and the XBox dropped 1/3 of its price in the first 9 months; the PS2 dropped 1/3 of its price in the first 18 months. There is simply NO REASON (except incompetence) that Microsoft can only drop its console price by 1/8 after 18 months.

Dropping your consoles price by 1/4 after 12 months and 1/2 (in total) after 30 months is not unreasonable and should be expected.

The explanation about "good enough graphics" and "good use of graphics" is there, from the same author: http://www.erasmatazz.com/library/JCGD_Volume_8/RepresentationDepiction.html

Pretty interesting stuff, given that it's about 15 years old... still haven't finished reading it.

It's also true that the Gamecube only took 22 months (in NA) to get to 1/2 of the launch price, but the PS2 took 43 months to do the same.  Xbox took 40 months, even though MS was willing to lose almost unlimited amounts of money in its quest for market share.

It's the second price cut I object to more than the first.  The Gamecube is obviously the exception to the rule here, ironically so considering that Nintendo is the one that likes to make profit on its hardware.

As for "no reason", is having to do warranty repair on massively systemic hardware failure good enough for you?  Apparently MS just found out that hardware isn't as easy to "patch" as software is.
