Forums - Microsoft - The Mass Effect 2 thread of predictions and WIN!!! (possible ME spoilers)

I just don't think we'll see it next year.

BioWare is knee deep in Dragon Age: Origins which actually has a release date, and that horrid MMO, SWTOR. I'd be surprised if it came out this year, but if it does:

1. Better Controls in Mako

2. Less texture loading

3. Less Elevator rides

4. More than 5 re-used side-quest corridors.

5. Just a more fleshed out experience.

Oh, and no good guy/bad guy thing. It's so done to death. It was cool in 2003, but in 2009, it's old, and over.

As long as it has blue lesbaliens, I'll be happy. Co-op would be good as well.

I just want more action. Like the end of the game ^^'.

saved the quenn thing that was bunged up on 1st act. then traded it in, mass effect had some of the worst grafix in technicle dept this gen, even during cut scenes th textures wouldnt load..................but many people love this game, and im sure fans of the game will lap it up.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

If mass effect 2 comes out next year , the J man would be one happy messiah.

If they make the main story a little longer and fix up the mako levels and pop in there is no doubt in the J mans mind that mass effect 2 will get 10/10.

One of the greatest rpgs ever.

Apparently an HDD install really helps the pop-in.

This is incorrect. It was one of the very first games installed by many people and unfortunately, a hard drive installation does nothing to reduce the texture pop-in or frame rate issues.

And if I'm displaying severe negativity towards Mass Effect, well, Bioware deserves it. That game needed at least another six months in the oven. Bioware spent so much time working on the universe for Mass Effect that they forgot to make half of their game.

Yet, despite all of that, it STILL is my favorite gaming experience this gen so far.  So, it being reasonable to conclude that those few things will be addressed, can you understand why there are many that consider Mass Effect II (and yes, it deserves the Roman numerals) to be their most anticipated game this gen?

I'm genuinely hoping for a 2009 release, even though Dragon Age (as DJM and others brought out) is making me feel skerd and sad.

Oh, and to the OP, how did the first game end on a cliffhanger?  I don't know how to do spoiler tags here, so I'll try to change the text color.  So, highlight to read spoiler text -> though we know the threat of the Reavers is still out there, they currently have no way to get to our part of the galaxy so there is no imminent threat.  Am I wrong?

BioWare games have never been about the graphics - KOTOR was pretty weak on that front, too.

What I'd like to see:

1) More than a 3 person landing party. We've been stuck with 2 sidekicks since Neverwinter Nights. It's time to expand.

2) Less moon crawling. I liked the Mako missions at first, but they became tedious, especially on worlds that were almost impassable.

3) No more "oh, was that a quest?" quests - stuff like finding badges or journals that had no part in the overall game, and were completed more or less by accident as you hunted among the planets.

4) New alien, or at least a new alien as an NPC. It'd be neat having one the jellyfish as a party member.

5) Less elevator

5) Love in an elevator

Totally agreed on #4. Having a hanar party member would rock. Or an elcor!

Fixed #5 for you.

Seriously though: I want more story paths, better graphics, and to be able to load up our old character.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

I would love to see ME2 in 2009, it's up there with Fallout 3 and Fable 2 for best game of this gen in my book.

Wish list :

- Less elevator scenes
- More variety in the base set ups
- I want to land on Earth this time and have a mission there!
- Actually I wish to be able to visit the home worlds of all races
- Less impossible landscapes for the Mako missions

I am largely platform agnostic. I fail to understand why some people get overly fanboyish about what is an inanimate piece of electronics that's obsolete even before it's launched, when there are far more important things to champion, such as preventing environmental destruction or preventing millions of people dying unnecessarily from illnesses. This fact however, doesn’t mean I am not someone who doesn’t enjoy gaming as a pastime (as I have done for the last 20 years) or doesn’t have a strong interest in how the market is evolving – hence my presence on this site.

Platforms owned – PC, DS, X-Box 360, PS3, PSP and Wii.

Keep MGS4 on the PS3 and Mass Effect on the 360 (well, until the trilogy is over, then then can do a Mass Effect Trilogy on the PS3 on one Blu-Ray disk).
