And when GTA IV disappointed some instead of being the Wii killer they all hoped, that game had a bunch of hate threads (I didn't make one, just a really badly chosed joke title).

@psrock, I don't think it's so much people can't take criticism, it's people can't stand the mindless fanboyism hate against it when it's used over and over again. The PS1 and PS2 weren't the most powerful consoles of their generation and look how well they did: they did amazing. People just tend to jump on the bash-wii bandwagon and just use the same criticisms over and over again just as an excuse, just like other fanboys did previous generations. BTW, I kind of agree with your sig, and kind of disagree at the same time.

Agreed 100%. It seems that in every forum that I go to they spend most of their time bashing/hating the Wii and not enough time talking about games. And if they do talk about games they focus on its shortcomings or start saying stuff like "It will suck" or "It will not sell.
As much as I hate to say this, VGchartz is the biggest offender. Really, most of the threads are either troll/hating threads or Wii defense threads (something I admit I am guilty of).
Really, what happened to the games? Since when did me make it our life's goals to defend a console or destroy it till the bitter end? Its clear that the Wii has alienated people to the point where they are offended by it. Do we NEED 100+ threads a day about it? 360 and PS3 fanboys, if you don't give a crap about the Wii WHY do you bother coming here and reminding us about it? Shouldn't YOU be the ones discussing the great games those systems have?
I don't see much if any hate for the Wii ... to be honest I think HD fans/fanboy could care less about the Wii .. when the new sales numbers come in I don't even look at the Wii, its won the "war" .... I don't even know why anyone would hate the Wii ... it doesn't exactly steal much third party support from the PS360 .. thats the only reason HD fans/fanboys should be pissed off.

It's because some are disappointed with the Wii and looking for more great games to play but not finding them.

Who is to say the E3 conference was a mistake.
Nintendo played to the general mass media rather than the specific game media. No where could this be more seen than in the two Associated Press articles on the event. The game writer ridiculed Nintendo. The general features writer praised it.
Basically, Nintendo wants to broaden the audience and is playing a different game. And it is winning the sales battle -- which makes others upset.
