I would be pissed off if I was a Wii owner more than as an HD console owner. The Wii doing well has been a completely hollow victory. By the time third parties start actually putting out games on the Wii, this generation is going to be almost over.

I really don't see what anyone is celebrating about. HD consoles are doing terrible in sales but still getting a lot of games, and the Wii is doing great in sales but is still getting the short end of the stick on games.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I just laugh at how Wii fanboys get off on their high console sales, even though they have the worst rated games based on metacritic/gamerankings.

I'd much rather have good games then the highest selling console. I'm just used to having both with PS1 and PS2

Kind of like how Sony fanboys got off on their high console sales. I'm also use to having good games, since near the NES era =).  And even though you say that we have the worst rated games, we have the best rated exclusive (and if you average the 360 and PS3 average of GTAIV, it's lower :P).

I shant be bothered by what a review site says about a game that I like, as long as I like it (as corny as that sounded :P).

I laugh at fanboys like yourself who are in denial >.<. So sad :'(

do we have a link to the may NPD? i wanna check something

For past sales you can just use VGChartz and they will all be roughly as accurate.

Why won't anyone mention the shitfest that is Your in the movies or Singstar?

How come Nintendo gets all the blame?

btw, yes this week is the highest console sales ever, the Wii has beaten the PS2, so expect some animosity at least temporarily. In the meantime wait till monday, im sure we'll all be back on last weeks "death of ps3" topic.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I have seen more threads lately with peole calling for the end of the Wii and bashing it and whatnot... It kinda reminds me of the aftermath of the May NDP... You know the month GTA4 was supposed to kill the Wii and send HD console into the mainstream. I remember it was really bad then too.

The better the wii does the more meltdowns then incur.... very entertaining.

For entertainment value post links to WiiHate meltdowns.

Is this thread really necessary? The odds of it changing anyone's minds is significantly lower than the odds of it bringing that Wii hate crowd into yet another thread.

There is nothing loved which is not hated in turn. No sunrise fails to have a sunset. No beginning is without an end. So do not despair in the hate which stands before you, for its presence alone is evidence enough that the love is there as well.

Non-pretentious version: all these haters just bring more attention to the Wii and end up making even more interest in the product. So let them hate. In the end, they're probably doing more good for the Wii than bad, just because their hissy-fits over it make people take a look at what could ever inspire such irrational rage.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

Meh I’ll just enjoy being a fan of the best game developer out there. Nintendo is on top and they are happy and I get my games which makes me happy.
