some people here complain that the wii will not have the market share that the ps2 had so what? the wii already did way far beyond than what ANYONE expected even nintendo. for a console that came from last place the last gen and less than 20%a 50% is a great achivement. it already doubled the gamecube sales. and it is not going to be forgotten.
That market share only mean one thing: THE WII IS KICKING THE 360 AND PS3 LITTLE ASSES, that´s all that means

well considering its selling considerably faster than the ps2 did, it is just 2nd and 3rd place sales are also higher.

Who knows. It might still.
I mean the PS2 had a consistantly high market share because it had a head start on all the competition that didn't go bankrupt.
As the console sales fall away it might turn out that the expanded audience is bigger then those sticking with the PS360.
You'd think so with how so many people are complaining "The casuals are taking over" etc.
Since x360 launch over 35 mln. PS2 were sold, you can`t ignore that. =)

PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.
PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far
