Forums - Nintendo - Quality of Nintendo's first party titles are increasing over time.

casual means worse because of two reasons. first, casual usually means low budget, and low budget means poor quality (look at ubisoft). second, casual games aren't made to have depth and are only for surface level enjoyment, usually for younger audiences (look at kung fu panda).

in some games i agree

Super Mario Galaxy - Destroys Mario Sunshine, and is a better game than Mario 64

Metroid Prime 3 - While not on par with Metroid Prime, its a return to glory from the previous shitfest, Metroid Prime 2.

Super Paper Mario - Worst Paper Mario game in the series.

Super Smash Bros Brawl - While i do appreciate all the fan service, i couldn't fathom the shitty online, meleee just caught my interest a lot longer. Though i think this is a much better package.

Mario Kart Wii - The 2nd Best Mario Kart game ever.

Zelda: TP - I own this for the GC, yet i've never finished the game, it just felt boring, but the quality is excellent.

Overall i think Nintendos First Party titles are really good, but they're gettin so much hate for not releasing nothing as good as those core games, since april

Higher quality but far less original.

@ burgrimmar

thats the reputation but casual doeant have to mean those things. wii sports is a good game, wii fit is a good game.there casual and they do what they do well. ive had fun with those games and they have some awesome multiplayer. when i have mates over its much better playing them than say disaster or metroid prime 3 despit the fact that i think those games are immense. i actually want nintendo to release a least a couple more casual games in 2009 as so far im only seeing wii sports resort.

nintendo fanboy, but the good kind

proud soldier of nintopia

i didn't say casual games weren't fun. they are.

what i'm saying is that casual games lack depth. they're made for on-the-surface fun.

I can agree with this.

Of course, Nintendo doesn't really make "casual" games. Certainly not in the sense that you (and the industry) use that term. They commit their A-teams, lots of time, and plenty of money to develop games for the "expanded audience," and only the most biased fool will claim that the results don't reflect that. So what makes you think that's suddenly going to change?

they're never going to fall, because they're going to make billions out of the shovelware. all i'm saying is that their games are going to suck more as the casual market grows.

Since when has nintendo been making shovelware?????? I don't think they will start anytime soon either.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

wii music is shovelware.

Oh you poor, misguided soul. I fear there is nothing I can do for you, but weep at your deliberate lack of understanding.

like it or not, wii music is shovelware. fun for 10 minutes. fun for little children.
