Forums - Microsoft - MS already planning to make Halo wars 2?

I was checking the achievement list of Halo wars and then my eyes caught this achievement:

Ready for the sequel

You can find the achievement list here => http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/halo-wars/achievements/

Let's just see how Halo Wars turns out when it appears in 2009. Planning a sequel is good providing the original sells well and is accepted by gamers and game critics. But any game with Halo in its name should sell well, right?

Too Human has had two sequels which were rumoured to have been made along with the original at the same time. That would explain the long delay of Too Human from debuting over 10 years in the making before being launched onto the market. We all know how poorly Too Human performed in regards to both sales and game reviews.

Well, halo wars will be a hit because of the name halo, so they would be stupid not to build a franchise out of it

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

I'm not surprised after all the game is supposed to take place 20 years before the Halo incident. Thats plenty of time to cover in the storyline for sequels.

Love is whats most important.

I think it's just a funny name for an achievement (i.e. somebody who gets 100% completion beat the shit out of the game and must like it enough to want a sequel).

If the game sells well, of course there will be a 2nd

It'd be hard to find many people good enough to follow Ensmble's quality now that they are shutting it down but I doubt it will stop them.

Some of the Ensemble team moved to the Halo team, and the Ensemble guys are starting a smaller studio. The engine is there now, so its possible to get them to work on a follow up.

But that achievement hardly confirms anything, it's put in there as a joke.

I mean, I'm sure there will be a sequel, but this 'news' changed nothing

The Studio Formerly Known As Ensemble is going to be supporting the game post-release, so I guess there's always a chance they could develop the sequel, assuming sales are good enough to warrant one.
