DON'T PAY FOR CIVILIZATION 2. IT'S FREE!

I linked you to the page in the other thread about your new computer, with all the old abandonware DOS games.

Your video card is not enough to play current gen games even at the lowest settings.
I would suggest you to enjoy the games you bought and older budget games and then buy a new video card (a radeon 4850 is nice) so you will be even happier cause you'll feel the difference.

I was gonna race in here and force left 4 dead and the orange box down your throat.... but.... your graphics card is not up to par :(

Intergrated is not made for gaming unfortunately

Check out my pyro tf2 vid :)

Bet With routsounmanman: By the end of Q1 2008 Capcom WONT have announced a RE5 Wii Edition OR a new RE (classic gameplay) for the Wii (WON)

The computer fails. You basically have the worst possible CPU and graphics card they're still selling. A real 'gaming' computer would be about 32x as powerful (I'm not kidding) and could be found for the same price as yours (i.e. you got ripped off).

Consider adding a low-end graphics card. It would mean you can actually play games with the thing. A Radeon HD4550 wouldn't be bottlenecked by the CPU, I imagine.

dtewi, whatever you do, don't listen to all these haters. I rocked the O-Box with 25% of your RAM and I loved it.

You can enjoy hundreds of PC games without spending a dime.

If the game's really new, you'll turn down the resolution. Big deal.

That'll be at most 1% of PC games, unless you have some sort of disease that only lets you play games that are less than 3 months old, are graphics-intensive, and anything less than maximum graphical settings makes you vomit.

EDIT: Figures were wrong. Yours isn't as bad as I thought but you would certainly benefit from a very cheap discrete card of any kind from the Radeon HD4xxx or Geforce 9xxx series.

Where are you getting the fillrate figure for the 7050? wikipedia gives it as 850MT/s which isn't incredible seeing as its comparable to a geforce 2 but its just about enough for some gaming. After playing Half life 2 on both a geforce 2 when it first came out and an integrated ati x200 a couple of years ago its certainly possible to enjoy relativly modern (2004?)games on lower settings with this kind of hardware.

Overall I agree with you that it would be the best option  to get a new graphics card if at all possible but to make out that no gaming at all is possible seems a little harsh.

As for your comment that he was ripped off i cant see that he even said how much he paid for this pc...

Should be more than enough to run games that are not demanding.

I would up the ram and graphics card if I have money to spare.

Additional 2GB ram probably cost you $30.

A decent graphics card for around $100.

And if you're crazzzzy rich ($250 more?), add 2 more monitors and run tripple mon for your latest fps :)

Um, yeah, I accidentally used the vertex fillrate for the 7050. I've removed the figures. Still, a cheap discrete card would get a huge speed increase.

Yes; if The Sims 2 is the most intensive game he plays (it appears so) then the integrated will do.

It doesn't matter. Assuming it was at least $350 (essentially the minimum possible cost of a desktop PC no matter how old the components are), there are better options at that price due to die-shrinks since. Even AMD's cheapest integrated graphics motherboard (based on the HD34xx series) and cheapest dual-core chip would be better than that. I'd say the same for Intel but their integrated graphics don't even match the 7050.
