Two revolutionary games. Have respect for both of them. Both started and took off a new generation of gaming.

Well, I mean there are a few benchmarks, pong for example is just another one.
I don't hate wii sports.... It's fun occasionally at parties and stuff.... But if you play it extensively as a real game... a screw is loose in your head. I'm not just another hater.... In fact I bought both a launch nintendo DS and Wii, so I don't need to hear your pre-teen hyper-defensive shit. My point is, and has always been: the Wii is the most disapointing console I have ever bought. I can take a few RRoD's, so long as I actually use the damn thing to play games to make it RRoD. Luckily for me, my xbox hasn't done it yet. Although I have been kind of wanting it to happen... It's sort of a mystical thing. Like, a meteor shower. But itstead of meteors, you get flying hot bits of dead rising, or whatever game you have in the drive

That's still an arbitrary reason. What gives you the right to decide what criteria have to be met in order for a game to count?
Wiisports is no more relevant to the function of the Wii than is Minesweeper to the PC, and last time I checked, Minesweeper, Free Cell, Solitaire were games that were designed to be played on a PC.
Still, what about Tetris? In addition to console sales, I'm sure that plenty of PC owners have spent countless hours toying with tetrominos.

About all I have to say to that statement is that those who act elitist rarely are elite in any sense of the term. The authentically wise do not waste their time posturing themselves as wise; they share their knowledge freely and allow criticism to come in willingly, responding intelligently and considerately to it no matter what form it takes.
