Spin off doesn't sell well?? Tale of the World Radiant Mythology on the PSP will like to have a word with you... so does every single Dynasty Warriors spin off... Orochi? Gundamn? Hell even Samurai Warriors could be count as a spin off... Also... Dead or Alive Extreme vs Dead or Alive 4 in Japan's opening week isn't MUCH DIFFERENT AT ALL... Spin off of VERY VERY WELL established games shouldn't sell anything less than a total new IP from a not so popular system.

Try not to compare apples and oranges please. Tales of spinoffs do less than the mothership titles, and that's when the spinoffs are on the same console as the mothership title, which is not the case for ToS:KoR.
That's without taking into account the production value difference between ToS:KoR and WKC.
The shipment of WKC was more or less 240k, so it can't sell better than that.
It's clearly a success and clearly validates which HD console can sell JRPG the best. This game clearly is in competition with games like Lost Odyssey or IU, and it clearly will own them, at least in Japan. That's keeping in mind the competition includes Square Enix published games, and some made by Mistwalker, acclaimed for its director, composer and character designers.
Despite the terrible 29/40 score in Famitsu which should have killed the game, it will sell in Japan.
But it's still not in its way to be a profitable game. We'll see the sales in the West.
I predicted to myself that it could reach 500k sales in Japan, I still don't know if it's reachable. It would have to be really good to reach that, and have a good supply for the new year. But given it's yet another westernized JRPG, I don't hold my breath.
