Amusing how it is the Wii crowd that seem to have a big issue with LBP..

Also amusing how PS3 crowd like to exaggerate LBP success.

I'm not sure that anyone is. It's selling steadily though, and you clearly have some beef with that.

I think it has more to do with the fact that the Wii fans would not be too excited if one of our biggest releases was struggling to hit 2 million 2 months after launch during the holidays.... But we need to remember that 2 million is a good number... i think the whole crazy Brawl/Smg/WiiFit/WiiSport/M&S/WiiPlay/MKWii huge numbers have kinda screwed up our barometers..... back in the cube days Nintendo fans would have been over doing too for a double plat game.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Recently, I saw a lot of surprising comments about how good were LBP legs and I though it was a good opportunity to finally define exactly what is the real definition of good legs.

Can we affirm that a bundled game like Wii Sport, Kung Fu Panda or LBP have good legs? Can we talk about good legs when a game is selling good numbers during the peak period of Christmas time? Can we speak of legs 3-4 weeks only after a game's release?

What do you think can be considered a game with good legs?

IMO a game with good legs is an unbundled game which can remain in the Top 50 after at least 13 weeks (3 months) and a game with great legs is the one remaining in the Top 50 after at least 26 weeks (6 months).

All games are bundled here, does that mean that no game has legs ?

LPB has had great legs.

If you're talking about Wii Sports in NA and Europe, Kung Fu Panda and LBP in Europe, yes, we cannot speak about legs for those games. So, no LBP doesnt have great legs considering it's bundled and it is Christmas.

No i'm talking about practically every game. Here atleast, possibly the rest of europe, you can choose what game you want when you pick up your console.

OH yeah, can we put all of ssbbs games on bundle since i got mine in one ? (yes for no price other than the consoles and officially, in a big chain)

Check out my game about moles ^

If the bundle isn't mandatory with every console, but it's only one of a number of bundles and the console is also available unbundled, bundles help sales, but aren't their sole reason, so in such case we can still talk about legs even if the copies are bundled, because their purchase is anyway choosable, not enforced on unwilling buyers. But LBP is still young, I'd keep it under observation some more weeks before deciding.

Fuckin-A.

And if the system is available without the bundled game, then doesn't that strongly suggest that the people who bought the bundle actually wanted the game and would have bought it any way without the bundle? I mean, if they didn't want the game, then wouldn't they have just bought the system that didn't include it?

No, because the game is free and it's the same price than a PS3 which doesnt come with a bundled game. Plus, a lot of consumers doesnt have choice.

You'd be right if LBP was the only bundle available other than no bundle at all. BUT there are several different bundles available, so people chosing the LBP one are preferring it although perhaps less strongly than people buying the game alone: there is still a chance that some people aren't really crazy for any bundled game and choose a relative best for their tastes, so I can admit there is a share of lukewarm preferences, but it's different from the case of only one bundle available other than no bundle, in that case we could be sure most preferences would be very lukewarm.

Legs mean that it's a sony game that sold poorly at launch duh

Another "LBP bombed" thread, how quaint.
Carry on then.

Well damn... what great lengths some haters will go through to dis credit a game with very solid sales. I see playing sceptic only comes on the board when we're talking about PS3 games.

the manipulation of arguements and overuse of the bundle example feels quite distastefull.

similiar showings are going in the recent WKC sales threads when suddenly 1oo~132.ooo first day "TRANSLATE" into something bad lol.

Hey guys, Little big planet sold nearly 100,000 units this week in NORTH AMERICA!

Where its not bundled, or budget price.

That's not a lot Leo-j, considering there are millions of people in the US alone.

as long as the game has a constant stream of sales within range of each other from week to to week, it doesn't matter if the game is bundled or not. it means that the sales dept is doing it's job.

LOL I'm just tired of people who make so many threads about how good are the legs of LBP when we all know the game is BUNDLED and that every single game got a boost in its sales because of Christma time. In fact I think that the PS3 crowd is so desperate that they will praise massively anything that may give themselves hope.
