wow first game where the resolution difference is really remarkable. The pixels and aliasing effects in the 360 version are pretty annoying. IT would be a bigger "win" for PS3 owners if this was a better game though. Eidos...

How come the first game ever where the PS3 version is actually a higher resolution, you try to pretend that "this is the first game where the resolution difference is really "remarkable.""

You sir, are simply biased, and either viewing these images through rose colored glasses, or lying about what you see.

As far as I remember, the only game that has a higher res on X360 than on PS3 game GTA IV (640p). This one runs at 576p.

On both the difference is remarkable, although TRU has some annoying effects (like he said) that GTA IV PS3 hadn't, compared to the X360 version.

The bolded part is completely inaccurate, however, I'm not here to argue with you. Just think what you want. If you care to investigate my accuracy, then feel free.

Off the top of my head, I believe Bioshock, and Soul Calibur 4(and nearly every mutliplat this gen) has a slightly lower native "just scan" resolution on the PS3.

Not that you can tell, depending on the size of your TV.

To be completely honest, I didn't even look at the pictures, or click the link. I know the poster. I'm not ignorant enough to believe him.

Strange choice of games there : Bioshock has better res videos on PS3, and Soul Calibur IV looks better on PS3. If the res is lower, then it's texture sizes must be like 10000x10000 lol. To tell you the truth, almost every game has better textures on the PS3 setting it to full RGB mode and adjusting contrast/brightness the right way.

eternal sonata also, with more content in game and cleaner texture work

id say bioshock also

Way to pick out games that came out a year after the 360 release. Will you mention Oblivion too?

Either way, TRU was a phenominal game. One of the best of the series. Everyone should pick it up.

it always amazes me some people take things to seriously.........ok just for you..oblivion there:)

i agree with you on tru.............there both the flipping same game, mods should stop people posting negs when its not warranted, in game comparisons, its getting annoying now.

eg: i have ps3 cod5, a bit better dramatic contrast, but 360 version has a bigger diffrence in the aliasing is a bit better.............now i play cod5 all the time, never once to i pause the game and think oh no il get 360 version etc..............if its the same damn game then who cares!

imo, TRU may have been lead developped on ps3, or may even be lead developed on 360, or there might have been a slight diff team working on both who knows, these type of comparisons are shit imo.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

if this a ps3 --> 360 port?

A coder stated the game was assets wise (audio and graphics) entirely build around the 360, they started working on the 360 version first because the PS3 came later. He stated beforehand they won't be able to better Uncharted's graphics, because that game is PS3 optimised.

Regarding multi-processing approaches they implemented this the way of the Cell, he stated Sony's approaches for this are much better for performance on the 360 as well, much better than anything Microsoft recommends (which also hampers PS3 porting).

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

Um. No I didn't. Feel free to check that post, but I never said it was. I said that over at NeoGAF, some of the demo users said it did, but I said, multiple times, that I've never played Uncharted, so I wouldn't know.

Here, I'll quote myself to show that your trying to smear me for no reason:

If the demo is just the beginning of what TR:U is, it's by far the best Tomb Raider in history.

Graphics are just insane. A lot of people are comparing it to Uncharted. I can't argue that since I never played Uncharted, but it's about the best darn game I've ever seen. The field of depth is ungodly, and the scenery is stunning.

The enivronments are top-notch. Combat is polished. Platforming is awesome. Lara has a ton of new moves that make your trips in the jungles even more insane than they already were.

Unless this game does something crazy and dumb halfway through, it'll earn easy 85% from every magazine, if not hit the 90's in some.

Best Tomb Raider ever, based on the demo. And that comes from my die-hard TR fiancee. She was absolutely stunned at how incredible the demo is (she owns every single Tomb Raider, and demo disc of TR ever made).

If you enjoyed Uncharted, liked Tomb Raider, like platformers, or are a graphics nut, the Tomb Raider: Underworld demo is required-viewing, if only for the graphics.

Now, exactly where did I say Uncharted was better? I don't see it.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Game Title - Tomb Raider Underworld

Avail System - PS3, 360, Wii

Wii - $29.99, Animations are more mechanical/robotic making it more difficult to control. Camera mapped to D-Pad makes it jittery and hard to control, low-res port of the 360 and PS3 versions, choppy animation, significantly more jaggy, least rewarding of the bunch

PS3 - $49.99, no Trophies, capped at 720p, choppy especially when moving the camera in big environments

360 - $49.99, Achievements, better framerate than PS3, 1080i/1080p upscaled,

Verdict - 1. 360 2. PS3 3. Wii

You do know that the PS3 can upscale games as well right?  Just because the games runs natively  at 720p or lower, doesn't mean you can't upscale it to 1080p.

I run GTA IV on 1080p upscaled all the time

The same set up applies to TR:U

Better framerate always wins over better graphics. +1

Achievements are also a good selling point.

There is always the possibility of a Trophy patch. Also it can't be that good of a selling point if the PS3 version is outselling it.
