Forums - Gaming - Nintendo Hatred is Getting Disrespectful

They love you, they crown you. Then they hate you and tear you down.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

But the nerve of some people to actually say "Nintendo doesn't care about it's loyal fanbase and core gamers". How dare you. That is not an opinion, but simply disrespect to one of the best developers out there. Not only is it not true but you should be ashamed that you'd even say it given Ninty's history.

Nintendo does not give a crap about "loyal fanbase and core gamers". It only cares about the money, just like any other company.

people can say whatever they want on the web, and the worst thing that can ever happen (unless they say they plan to kill some official) is they get banned...

The internet for the most part is a wasteland of dribble.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Hate to go off topic but there seems to be one huge misconception many gamers have. I do not know whether it is bias or out right ignorance but I am here to clarify that Nintendo have not changed their focus to the "casual crowd" (such a stupid word), but in fact have expanded their focus to all crowds.

The funny thing is last time I checked, I believe they released more traditional games than the so called casual games.

I never understand why so many gamers choose to be so blind, fair enough Nintendo games or even the Wii are not their thing, but they have two other companies who will give them what they want.

Truth is i think a lot of forum goers find it a lot easier to be rude and a complete ass's than to be polite and have a well mannered conversation.

I agree with you Zucas, people tend to bash Nintendo a lot now because it is a "Hardcore" thing to do, most people that complain do not even own a Wii and DS, or do not want to try many games for it.

People do forget that they still are the best 1st party Studio in the World that has produced many great titles, but this gen they went beyond that and tried also alternative by creating games that appeal to more people, but trying with new Ip's and creating a phenomena like Wii Fit.

I look forward to the day when Nintendo releases another game I am interested in playing.

Until then, I will continue enjoying my other games and systems.

I don't think the hatred for Nintendo is considerably more vituperative than that for Sony or Microsoft.

Please take note that you will frequently see other threads like "Why all the Sony hate?" or posts about how Microsoft must not take over the industry. Everyone thinks they're a victim.

In reality, there are vicious remarks made on all sides. We'll ban the worst offenders, but in general it's probably a good idea to recognize that no one here is special and unique, and if you think your "side" is being singled out, it's mostly in your imagination.

I have gotten a sense (especially around the release of GTA4) that Gaming sites, and hd fanboys are kinda uniting against the Wii. they are afraid that it will kill gaming. That is my theory why they hype GTA4 up so much... they said it as a WMD against the Wii... it failed... then Wiimusic came, they got even more scared... Before it was against the Wii now it is aimed at Nintendo themselves... but I do not see any ace in the hole coming for them, imo it is too late to stop the Wii.

Also, I'm not into bashing anyone, but I think Nintendo should earn respect through tons of great games.
