So, by end of Jan, it could see ~  450K. Then ~ 100-150K for the next months (Up untill November) which yields ~  1M in total.

CoD: WAW will sell 500k on Wii, with a chance on 1m in the future. Anything else is to far away right now, I think.

500k in 2-4 weeks. Maybe 1m in 10-16 weeks.

It's at 470K already with out last weeks America numbers.

2 million may be stretching it a bit but it will certainly hit some where near 1.5 million provided retail purchases enough copies.

It will break 1 million by March or April and go on to sell 2 million at least. The games is starting to the that "buzz" that is required for a Wii game to become a huge hit. I hear people who are not core in the least bit talking about the game.

Activision has been advertising the ALOT, yet the stores are selling out. This means to me it is selling well and there is a decent supply (why waste so much money marketing a game that you cant even supply). Stores around me have beeb getting shipments of the game and it is still hard to find.

There is no way it sold "just" 28k last week.

Wii games that sold more - Wall e, The Price is Right, Monopoly, We Ski, Jillian Micheals Fitniss Ultimatum, Spydro: Dawn of the Dragon... I have never seen any of those games sold out. How can a game with a HUGE name, great marketing budget, quality, out of stock, and such be selling less than board game, games, Game show games, and a Crappy Fitness game, and an IP that has been dead for like 8 years... Just a little frustration here.

Honestly With the Wiis userbase and the fact the game is mainstream... this thing could really become very big.

Games last year that were called uber flops until fiscal data was released (NDP undertracking) Carnical Games, and Game Party are just a few names.

do you feel just as bad when wii fit, wii music, mario party 8, sonic & mario at the olympics, wii sports outsell other hardcore, quality games? or do you have a double standard for liking nintendo games?

Maybe they are talking about it because Call of Duty is one of the biggest series on Earth right now? You may also hear people talking about Wii Fit, Halo, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Mario Kart, etc. and not be core gamers. It's called popularity and word of mouth. Someone's girlfriend, or mother, or Uncle, or non-gaming friend may have heard of Call of Duty because there are over 10 million people playing it and sometimes the name gets around because people won't shut up about it. My mother knows what Call of Duty is, and she is a complete non-gamer. She won't even play the Wii. This doesn't necessarily mean they are showing interest in purchasing it. They just happen to know it exists.

Frankly the only way I see COD: WaW approaching 2 million is if Activision skips out on giving the Wii Modern Warfare 2, otherwise I say it's sales will be replaced by MW2 when it comes out.

well, I was right... came in in the top 20 (no. 19) for december in NDP. It was like 120th here on VGC, it is not a flop, 2 million is possible. Activision had better put COD:6 on the Wii.

I don't see how they could skip it, now. CoD3 obviously did well enough that it warranted 5 on the Wii, and 5 is going to handily beat 3 in sales.

I think the fact they put Treyarch on this version is a vote of confidence that they have in going forward with the Wii.

people are talking about the Wii version, non-traditional gamers who like Wii controls are interested in playing a Game set in WW2 (and most likely modern warfare too) on these controls. They dont like the traditional gamepads.

Also, did you note I made this thread on cmas, before brett adjust it up a bit, it appears it needed more. I still think 2 million is tough, and not a sure thing... but I think it can do it.

But if anything, this is a good sign for the Conduit, a FPS game that is clearly over shadowed by 2 monsters is seeing solid sales, I think the Conduit which will have the spotlight to itself can shine if its quality Warrents it.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

What exactly are "people" saying? Do you have conversations you want to run off?

Also what you just said about this being good for the Conduit completely contradicts what you said earlier in the thread. Reposted:

I know several people who are not interested in Halo/Resitance games, but like Tom Clancy/ Call of Duty esque stuff. Also, parents buy games for stupid reasons. I actually know a parent who bought CoD:WaW for their kid because of its "historical" value compared to other games, also someone who is very Patriot would be intruiged by a WW2 game or Modern Warfare, or a kid who wants to be a soldier when he grows up. IMO most scifi type people are already "gamer" types, they may not be hard core, but gaming is "in" for them.

So which is it? Frankly I'm not buying what you're saying for one reason. This is all about upstreaming and downstreaming as part of Blue Ocean or disruption or whatever, and Nintendo has always been one step ahead of the curve. If they don't have an FPS-ish game to bring in the fold, then I don't think it's "non-traditional gamers" primarily purchasing this. Is it really hard to believe that 470K "core" gamers on the Wii purchased COD: WaW? It seems that with 45 million sold, maybe a few FPS fans slipped in there somewhere. Even if it does happen to reach 2 million somehow, I don't see how that supports it being picked up by the non-traditional crowd.

All it needs is more shelf space. I see it sold out all the time too, but I dont think there is really much of a supply.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

I think if activision pumped out enough copies they;d sell them. People are going to buy wii games, it just needs to be on the shelf. I know people that want games like COD for there wii but cant find them.

Had Activision not sent it to me for review, I would have bought it.
