Forums - Nintendo - CoD: WaW Wii Will Sell 2 Million At Least

I'm hoping for 1 million, 2 is a little far fetched I think, but who knows.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

A lot of people seem to believe that because a game is sold out then it is performing really well, sales-wise. This isn't the case. The majority of game stores may have only been allocated perhaps a tenth of what they were given for the 360/PS3 versions. So if you have 100 copies of CoD on the 360 and only 10 on the Wii... having the Wii version sell-out isn't all that impressive.

But your telling me that a game with a 60k opener can't sell 1.5 million or 1.75 million.   A lot of other games say hello.

So I don't know what your issues are, but you need that Wii version to fail for some reason.  I can sense it in you.

Nope dude. I'm not saying game with a 60k opener can't sell 1,5 million... I'm saying your prediction is totally unconsistent and all this back-patting despite fact game clearly tracks below everyones expectation is just plain silly. If you need to feel happy with it anyway - it's your choice. For me Wii's version with such userbase should outsold heavily both PS3 'sand X360's but I've mentioned it before... it's not an argument for you so...

BTW you should quit all this remarks regards my personality because your senses fail you dude. You are crying over this game as  I would insult you mother or something when I just have some fun thanks to overreacting dudes like you.

@ bigjon

supply constraint... c'mon not again...

Hey Zucas where did you get to see the NPD numbers for COD:WAW Wii? I am really interested to see what it is really tracking if VGC numbers arent accurate.

See the previous posts that we estimate what is the sales number for it.

2 million is going to be a challenge, mostly because competition is going to arrive and cut those legs out from under this game. The Conduit comes out in a few months, and it's likely that the next Call of Duty will also arrive on the Wii in time for the next holiday season. At that point, all World at War is likely to have as an advantage is being the best WW2 shooter, and some people really like that setting.

Who say I'm patting myself on the back.  I've been the first to admit my opening week predictions were off for all 3.  Really I've had nothing to pat my back on about CoD WaW yet because most of my predictions have been off EXCEPT for the Wii version end of the year.  When VGC updates WaW, it'll be about 800k at the end of the year which was my prediction.  Other than that the only other thing I've gotten to pat my back for was pointing out your biased argument and dismantling it so easy it was like undoing a lego castle.

Actually, bigjon deserves a pat on the back. He figured this game was undertracked by VGC, and NPD backs him up on this. He's earned the right to say 'I told you so,' and anything which makes VGC numbers more accurate is A Good Thing.

Using the Madden 360 numbers, which where 1.89 million for the year, we can find out how much CoD Wii sold on December.
On August it sold 1 million, in September 223k, in October less than 94k ( it was out of top 20) and in November it sold a bit less than 184k ( it was 1 position behind Fble 2, which sold that number of copies). The combined number of all those months is tops 1.5 million, so that means the Madden sold at least 0.39k on December. And seeing that Madden is on position 18 and Cod Wii on 19, I think it is likely that it sold more less 0.35k or even more.
How would that number compare with what VGcharts has?

VGC has it at 358k by the end of 2008 in America.

By the way, there are over 330k online accounts now.
